Effect observation of tinidazole combined with calcium hydroxide paste in root canal treatment of chronic periapical periodontitis
Objective To study the effect of tinidazole combined with calcium hydroxide paste in root canal treatment of chronic periapical periodontitis. Methods 42 patients with chronic periapical periodontitis who underwent root canal treatment with calcium hydroxide paste were selected as the control group, and another 43 patients with chronic periapical periodontitis who underwent root canal treatment with tinidazole and calcium hydroxide paste were selected as the observation group. The therapeutic effect and periodontal health index[gingival Index(GI),bleeding index(BI),plaque index(PLI),probing depth(PD)]before and after treatment of the two groups were compared. Results The total clinical effective rate of 95.35%in the observation group was significantly higher than 80.95%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,GI,BI,PLI and PD in both groups were improved compared with those before treatment, and the improvement effect in the observation group were better than that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,GI,BI,PLI and PD in the observation group were better than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Tinidazole combined with calcium hydroxide paste for root canal therapy in patients with chronic periapical periodontitis is more effective than calcium hydroxide paste alone, and can better improve the periodontal health index of patients, which is worthy of recommendation.
