Evaluation of the effect of intervention based on protection motivation theory in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment in prodromal Parkinson's disease
Objective To analyze the effect of intervention based on protection motivation theory in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment in prodromal Parkinson's disease. Methods A total of 98 elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment in prodromal Parkinson's disease were divided into the control group(January 2019 to January 2020)and the observation group(from February 2020 to January 2021)according to the order of treatment time, with 49 cases in each group. The control group was given routine health intervention, and the observation group was given the intervention based on protection motivation theory on the basis of the control group.Comparison was made on EuroQol Group's 5-domain 3 level questionnaire(EQ-5D-3L)score,Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS)score,Beijing version of the Montreal Cognitive Assessment scale(BJ-MoCA)score,Parkinson's Disease Sleep Scale(PDSS)score and patient satisfaction with different interventions between the two groups. Results After intervention, compared with those before intervention, the scores of EQ-5D-3L and UPDRS decreased, while the scores of PDSS and BJ-MoCA increased;after intervention, the observation group had EQ-5D-3L score of(5.12±1.60)points and UPDRS score of(64.51±6.28)points,which were lower than(6.04±1.54)and(73.69±7.24)points of the control group;the observation group had PDSS score of(135.69±12.88)points and BJ-MoCA score of(27.58±0.51)points,which were higher than(110.47±10.36)and(25.99±0.84)points of the control group;the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The satisfaction of the observation group was 95.92%,which was higher than 73.47% of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The intervention based on protection motivation theory can help improve the quality of life and sleep quality, cognitive function and health in elderly patients with mild cognitive impairment in the prodromal Parkinson's disease, and the patients are high satisfied with the intervention.
