Analysis of effect of microvascular decompression in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia
Objective To analyze the effect of microvascular decompression in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia. Methods 120 patients with trigeminal neuralgia were all treated with microvascular decompression. The vascular compression, therapeutic effect, occurrence of adverse events and recurrence were analyzed. Results Among the 120 patients,104 cases(86.67%)had offending vessel, and 16 cases(13.33%)had no clear offending vessel. The effective rate was 95.83%(115/120).Within 1 month after surgery, the patients had facial numbness in 17 cases(14.17%),dizziness in 6 cases(5.00%),cerebrospinal fluid leakage in 1 case(0.83%),nausea and vomiting in 5 cases(4.17%),and no neuroparalytic keratitis or hearing loss occurred. At 6 months after surgery,6 cases(5.00%)recurred within 3 months, but the pain symptoms could be controlled after medication.9 patients(7.50%)relapsed within 6 months after surgery,of which 2 patients could not be controlled after administration of drugs, and the rest of the patients were stable,no obvious abnormalities were found in head CT during follow-up,and their daily life was not affected. Conclusion Microvascular decompression is effective and relatively safe in the treatment of primary trigeminal neuralgia, which is worthy of clinical application.
