Analysis of the value of detection of Treponema pallidum antibody in serum by CLIA,RPR,and TPPA
Objective To analyze the results of detection of Treponema pallidum antibody in serum by chemiluminescent immunoassay(CLIA),rapid plasma reagin(RPR)and Treponema pallidum partical assay(TPPA).Methods 100 serum samples from suspected syphilis patients were selected for study. All samples were tested by CLIA,RPR,and TPPA method, and the results of recombinant immunoblot assay(RIBA)were used as the gold standard. The results of the three detection methods were analyzed, and the diagnostic efficiency of the three detection methods was compared. Results CLIA detected 59 positive cases and 41 negative cases;RPR detected 73 positive cases and 27 negative cases;TPPA detected 59 positive cases and 41 negative cases. The diagnostic accuracy of CLIA was 69.00%(69/100),the sensitivity was 68.92%(51/74),and the specificity was 69.23%(18/26).The diagnostic accuracy of RPR was 97.00%(97/100),the sensitivity was 97.30%(72/74),and the specificity was 96.15%(25/26).The diagnostic accuracy of TPPA was 77.00%(77/100),the sensitivity was 74.32%(55/74),and the specificity was 84.62%(22/26).The diagnostic accuracy and sensitivity of CLIA were significantly higher than that of CLIA and TPPA(P<0.05).The specificity of RPR was higher than CLIA(P<0.05).The difference of diagnostic accuracy and sensitivity between CLIA and TPPA was small(P>0.05).The difference in diagnostic accuracy, sensitivity and specificity between CLIA and TPPA was small(P>0.05).Conclusion RPR method has better diagnostic accuracy in the clinical diagnosis of Treponema pallidum antibody, and can be used to provide reliable diagnosis and treatment basis for the treatment of patients with syphilis.
