Effect of methylphenidate hydrochloride on compliance in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
Objective To analyze the clinical effect of methylphenidate hydrochloride in children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and its influence on medication compliance. Methods 60 children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder in our hospital were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group according to random number table method, with 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with rapid-release methylphenidate hydrochloride tablets, and the observation group was treated with methylphenidate hydrochloride prlonged-release tablets. Both groups were compared in terms of therapeutic effect, compliance,Swanson Nolan and Pelham Version Ⅳ Scale(SNAP-Ⅳ)score(attention deficit score,hyperactivity/impulsivity score, oppositional defiant score),serological indicators[prolactin(PRL),soluble protein-100β(S100β)]before and after medication, and occurrence of adverse reactions. Results There was no difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no difference in compliance between the two groups after 1 month of medication(P>0.05).The compliance of the observation group after 3,6 and 12 months of medication were 93.33%,90.00%and 90.00%,which were higher than 66.67%,60.00%and 60.00%of the control group(P<0.05).After medication, the scores of attention deficit,hyperactivity/impulsivity,oppositional defiance decreased in both groups;the scores of attention deficit,hyperactivity/impulsivity and oppositional defiance in the observation group were(10.36±1.24),(9.86±1.12)and(8.14±1.04)points,which were lower than(13.41±1.38),(12.93±1.20)and(10.06±1.10)points in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,PRL and S100β in both groups were higher than those before treatment;PRL and S100β in the observation group were(11.15±1.58)and(42.51±4.10)ng/ml,which were higher than(8.96±1.37)and(35.08±3.93)ng/ml in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions of the observation group was 13.33%,and that of the control group was 23.33%.There was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Methylphenidate hydrochloride tablets can improve the clinical symptoms of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and increase the medication compliance.
