Pelvic inflammatory disease is one of the common gynecological diseases.If not treated in a timely and standardized manner or if the patient's body is weak,it can progress to sequelae of pelvic inflammatory disease(SPID).The clinical manifestations of SPID include chronic pelvic pain,infertility,ectopic pregnancy,etc.The prolonged and recurrent condition seriously affects the psychological and physiological health of female patients,and reduces their quality of life.For the treatment of SPID,modern medicine mainly focuses on antibiotic treatment,and surgical treatment is necessary;for infertile patients,it is recommended to provide assisted reproductive technology;for patients with ectopic pregnancy and hydrosalpinx,surgical treatment is recommended.Traditional Chinese medicine has a long history of treating SPID,mainly using internal and external treatment methods.It has the advantages of clear effects,high safety,and easy promotion.Therefore,this article summarizes the relevant research on the treatment of SPID with traditional Chinese medicine and Western medicine for clinical reference.
