Observation on the curative effect of auricle orthosis applied to children with congenital auricle deformity
Objective To study the effect of auricle orthosis applied to children with congenital auricle deformity. Methods 50 children with congenital auricle deformity aged 3 d-3 months were selected and divided into 3-42 d group and 43 d-3 months group according to their age, with 25 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with auricle orthosis. After 3 months of follow-up,the overall correction of 50 cases of children was observed, and the auricular appearance effect, the time of initial correction, the occurrence of adverse events, the satisfaction of children's parents were compared between the two groups. Results In 50 cases of children with congenital auricle deformity, the excellent rate of overall correction was 86%(43/50),the time of initial correction was(27.94±5.99)d,the incidence of adverse events was 20%(10/50),and the satisfaction rate of parents was 80%(40/50).After correction, the excellent rate of auricular appearance in 3-42 d group was 96.00%,which was significantly higher than 76.00%in 43 d-3 months group;the time of initial correction was(25.55±5.42)d,which was significantly shorter than(30.33±6.95)d in 43 d-3 months group;the incidence of adverse events was 8.00%,which was significantly lower than 32.00%in 43 d-3 months group;the total satisfaction rate of parents on auricle morphology was 92.00%,which was significantly higher than 68.00%in 43 d-3 months group(P<0.05).Conclusion The overall effect of auricular orthosis in children with congenital auricular deformity is significant, safe and reliable. The younger the age of children receiving correction, the better the therapeutic effect, the shorter the correction time, the fewer adverse events, and the higher the satisfaction of parents, suggesting that the younger the age,the earlier the treatment, the more satisfactory the results and the higher the safety.
