Analysis of the imaging features and diagnostic effect of multi-slice spiral CT in patients with acute appendicitis
Objective Multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT)Is used to diagnose patients with acute appendicitis, and its imaging features are summarized to analyze its diagnostic value in acute appendicitis. Methods A total of 80 patients with suspected acute appendicitis were selected as the study subjects, and all patients were diagnosed by ultrasound and MSCT respectively. The results of surgical pathology were used as the gold standard to analyze the diagnostic results and compare the diagnostic efficiency(sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive predictive value and negative predictive value)of ultrasound and MSCT in diagnosing acute appendicitis,as well as the CT signs of patients with different types of appendicitis. Results The pathological diagnosis results showed that 62 of the 80 patients were positive and 18 were negative.Ultrasound diagnosed 51 true positive cases and 13 true negative cases;MSCT diagnosed 59 true positive cases and 16 true negative cases. The diagnostic sensitivity, accuracy and negative predictive value of MSCT were 95.16%,93.75%and 84.21%,which were higher than those of ultrasound diagnosis(82.26%,80.00%and 54.17%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in diagnostic specificity and positive predictive value between ultrasound and MSCT(P>0.05).MSCT diagnosis results showed that among 59 true positive cases,25 cases were simple appendicitis,18 cases were suppurative appendicitis, and 16 cases were perforated gangrenous appendicitis. There was statistical significance in the proportion of peripheral exudation among patients with different types of appendicitis(P<0.05).Conclusion MSCT has high sensitivity and accuracy in the diagnosis of acute appendicitis, and the observation of CT signs is conducive to the identification of disease types, which has high clinical value.
