Study on effect of Simo decoction and metoclopramide in the treatment of critically ill patients with gastric retention
Objective To explore the effect of Simo decoction and metoclopramide in the treatment of critically ill patients with gastric retention. Methods 80 cases of critically ill patients with gastric retention in intensive care unit(ICU)were selected as subjects, and were randomly divided into Simo decoction group and metoclopramide group, with 40 cases in each group.Comparison was made on therapeutic effect,Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation Ⅱ(APACHE-Ⅱ)score on admission, sequential organ failure assessment(SOFA)on admission, length of ICU stay, mechanical ventilation, complication rate between the two group. Results The total effective rate of metoclopramide group was 80.00%,which was not statistically significant compared with 87.50%in Simo decoction group(P>0.05).In metoclopramide group, the APACHE-Ⅱ score on admission,SOFA score on admission, length of ICU stay, mechanical ventilation time and complication rate were(23.65±5.62)points,(9.87±1.23)points,(10.02±4.40)d,(70.68±6.72)h and 22.50%,and those in the Simo decoction group were(24.18±6.07)points,(9.62±1.98)points,(11.90±4.84)d,(72.37±6.53)h and 15.00%,and the difference between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion The effect of Simo decoction and metoclopramide in the treatment of gastric retention in critically ill patients is comparable.
