Effect of an intervention scheme based on the revised enteral nutrition tolerance scale on early enteral nutrition feeding intolerance in ICU patients
Objective To evaluate the effect of an intervention scheme based on the revised enteral nutrition tolerance scale on early enteral nutrition(EN)feeding intolerance(FI)in intensive care unit(ICU)patients. Methods 82 patients with early EN in ICU were selected as the research subjects and divided into a study group and a control group according to random numerical table, with 41 cases in each group. The control group assessed the tolerance of EN by monitoring gastric residual volume(GRV)and conducted graded intervention, while the study group assessed the tolerance of EN by using the revised enteral nutrition tolerance scale and conducted graded intervention. The incidence of FI,the target feeding rate and nutritional indicators[serum total protein(TP),serum albumin(ALB)and hemoglobin(Hb)]of the two groups were compared. Results The incidence of FI in the study group and the control group were 19.4%and 35.4%,respectively,and the target feeding rate were 77.4%and 62.3%,respectively.The incidence of FI in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and the target feeding rate was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).7 d after ICU admission,TP,ALB and Hb in the study group were(68.3±7.5),(39.7±6.8)and(130.7±16.6)g/L,while those in the control group were(64.1±6.7),(36.1±5.7)and(126.3±14.0)g/L.7 d after ICU admission,TP and ALB in the study group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in Hb between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The intervention scheme based on the revised enteral nutrition tolerance scale can improve the tolerance to EN and the target feeding rate of ICU patients, and improve the nutritional support effect.
