A study on the mental health problems and intervention measures of children with precocious puberty
Objective To investigate the mental health problems and interventions for children with precocious puberty, and determine whether the psychological characteristics of children with precocious puberty change over time and with treatment. Methods Based on 249 patients with precocious puberty,60 of them were randomly selected as research subjects for psychological evaluation, and were divided into a control group and an experimental group according to random number method, each with 30 cases. The control group received conventional treatment, and the experimental group received psychological intervention based on the control group.Comparison was made on psychological assessment indicators(children's depression scale, social acceptance scale, child behavior checklist)and mental health indicators[NEO five-factor inventory version 3(NEO-FFI-3),depression anxiety stress scale(DASS),positive and negative affectivity scale(PANAS)]before and after the intervention between the two groups. Results After the intervention, the experimental group had lower score of children's depression scale of(1.81±0.31)points than(0.52±0.36)points in the control group;in the experimental group, the cognitive ability score of children's depression scale was(3.46±0.32)points,the physical ability score was(3.41±0.31)points,the peer acceptance score was(3.56±0.22)points,the internalization score of child behavior checklist was(2.32±0.43)points,the externalization score was(2.53±0.32)points,and the total behavior problem score was(17.12±9.14)points,which were higher than(2.71±0.41),(2.24±0.62),(2.35±0.47),(1.91±0.41),(1.90±0.21),and(14.64±8.65)points in the control group;the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the intervention, the experimental group had higher NEO-FFI-3 score of(3.61±0.15)points than(2.94±0.11)points in the control group;in the experimental group, the depression score of DASS scale was(1.56±0.32)points,the anxiety score was(1.06±0.15)points,the stress score was(1.62±0.32)points,and the positive impact score of PANAS scale was(2.68±0.22)points,the negative impact score was(1.54±0.41)points,which were lower than(2.18±0.66),(1.53±0.23),(2.12±0.68),(3.11±0.26)and(2.72±0.33)points in the control group;the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion For the patients with precocious puberty, drug therapy combined with correct psychological intervention measures can effectively improve the mental health of the children and improve the therapeutic effect.
