Efficacy and safety of interferon combined with ganciclovir in the treatment of children with herpes zoster
Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of interferon combined with ganciclovir in the treatment of children with herpes zoster. Methods A total of 100 children with herpes zoster were divided into an observation group(interferon combined with ganciclovir treatment)and a control group(sinlge ganciclovir treatment)by random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. The treatment effect, inflammatory factors(interleukin-6,interleukin-10)levels,and time required for treatment were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of 98%in the observation group was higher than 70%in the control group, and the data comparison was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the observation group had interleukin-6 of(230.59±22.47)pg/ml and interleukin-10 of(169.19±15.58)pg/ml,which were higher than(139.29±26.69)and(160.49±22.69)pg/ml in the control group. The data comparison were statistically significant(P<0.05).The duration of pain relief, blister control, and scab formation in the observation group were(1.79±0.87),(1.39±0.49)and(3.19±1.29)weeks,which were shorter than(4.39±1.09),(2.79±1.39)and(5.01±1.49)weeks in the control group, and the data comparison were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Interferon combined with ganciclovir therapy has significant clinical efficacy in the clinical treatment of children with herpes zoster, which can shorten the time required for treatment. It has high clinical application value.
