Clinical effect of combined treatment of insulin glargine and acarbose tablets on elderly patients with diabetes
Objective To study the clinical effect of the combination of insulin glargine and acarbose tablets in elderly patients with diabetes. Methods 80 elderly patients with diabetes were divided into a control group and an observation group according to random numerical table, with 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with metformin combined with acarbose, and the observation group was treated with insulin glargine combined with acarbose tablets. The clinical effect, blood glucose and body mass index before and after treatment, adverse reactions of the two groups were compared. Results The observation group had total effective rate of 100.00%,which was significantly higher than 87.50%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the observation group had fasting blood glucose of(5.96±0.57)mmol/L,2 h postprandial blood glucose of(9.13±1.03)mmol/L,glycosylated hemoglobin of(5.12±1.57)%,and body mass index of(23.97±2.03)kg/m2,which were better than(6.58±0.18)mmol/L,(11.41±2.53)mmol/L,(7.15±1.18)%,and(25.52±2.53)kg/m2 in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 5.00%,which was lower than 20.00%in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined treatment of insulin glargine and acarbose tablets in elderly patients with diabetes has a significant effect, which is of great significance in clinical practice and is worth extensive application.
