Study on effect of colostrum oral massage combined with non-nutritive sucking intervention on feeding tolerance and growth and development indicators in premature infants
Objective To explore the effect of colostrum oral massage combined with non-nutritive sucking intervention in premature infants. Methods 50 premature infants were divided into an observation group and a control group using a random number table method, each with 25 cases. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group received colostrum oral massage combined with non-nutritive sucking intervention. The feeding tolerance score, growth and development indicators, neurological development, and family satisfaction were compared between two groups. Results Before nursing, there was no significant differences in feeding tolerance scores between the two groups(P>0.05).After nursing, the feeding tolerance score in both groups was higher than that before nursing, and the observation group had higher feeding tolerance score of(21.26±3.08)points than(15.65±2.71)points in the control group(P<0.05).Before nursing, there were no significant differences in body weight, head circumference and body length between the two groups(P>0.05).After nursing, the body weight of the observation group was(2083.79±30.30)g,the head circumference was(33.45±1.52)cm and the body length was(47.18±2.90)cm,which were higher than(1890.68±28.25)g,(31.36±1.48)cm and(45.06±2.85)cm of the control group(P<0.05).Before nursing, there was no statistical difference between the two groups in terms of neonatal behavioral neurological assessment(NBNA)scores of active muscle tone, passive muscle tone, behavioral ability, primitive reflexes, and general condition(P>0.05).After nursing, the NBNA scores of active muscle tone, passive muscle tone, behavioral ability, primitive reflexes, and general condition of the observation group were(6.12±0.75),(5.79±0.89),(10.29±1.25),(4.52±0.52),and(4.97±0.60)points,which were higher than(5.48±0.79),(5.06±0.81),(8.79±1.12),(3.97±0.48),and(4.02±0.53)points of the control group(P<0.05).The family satisfaction in the observation group was 92.00%,which was higher than 68.00%in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion The combination of colostrum oral massage and non-nutritive sucking intervention has a good application effect in premature infants, which is beneficial for improving their feeding tolerance, promoting growth and development, and increasing family satisfaction.
