Objective To analyze the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion combined with massage in the treatment of cervical spondylotic radiculopathy. Methods A total of 60 patients with cervical spondylotic radiculopathy were selected as the study subjects.According to the random number table, they were divided into a control group(30 cases, conventional western medicine)and an observation group(30 cases, acupuncture and moxibustion and massage).Comparison was made on therapeutic effect, recurrence rate at 1-year follow-up,symptom score,Nec kdisability index(NDI)score, visual analogue scale(VAS)score and generic quality of life inventory-74(GQOL-74)score between the two groups. Results After treatment, the total effective rate of the observation group was 96.67%,which was higher than 80.00%of the control group(P<0.05).The recurrence rate at 1-year follow-up of the observation group was 10.00%,which was lower than 40.00%of the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of single limb numbness, upper limb numbness and pain, and neck discomfort in the two groups decreased;the scores of single limb numbness, upper limb numbness and pain, and neck discomfort of patients in the observation group were(1.01±0.15),(0.95±0.10),and(0.92±0.10)points,which were significantly lower than(1.80±0.20),(1.55±0.20),and(1.55±0.20)points in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,NDI and VAS scores decreased in both groups;NDI and VAS scores in the observation group were(5.80±0.80)and(1.50±0.30)points,which were significantly lower than(10.80±1.20)and(3.95±0.70)points in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the scores of physical function, psychological function, social function and material life improved in both groups;the scores of physical function, psychological function, social function and material life in the observation group were(94.30±3.03),(95.02±3.30),(95.02±3.03)and(95.20±2.30)points,which were ignificantly higher than(90.03±2.50),(90.02±2.50),(90.02±2.50)and(90.03±3.02)points in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupuncture and moxibustion combined with massage has a good prognosis for cervical spondylotic radiculopathy.
