Analysis of the clinical effect of pulpotomy and pulpectomy in the treatment of deciduous molar with carious pulp exposure
Objective To analyze the effect of pulpotomy and pulpectomy in the treatment of deciduous molar with carious pulp exposure. Methods 78 children(78 teeth)with deciduous molar with carious pulp exposure were selected and divided into a study group and a control group according to the treatment modality, each consisting of 39 cases. The study group was treated with pulpotomy, and the control group was treated with pulpectomy. The two groups were compared in terms of clinical efficacy, dentin bridge formation at 3 and 6 months after surgery, and the occurrence of adverse reactions. Results After surgery, the total effective rate of the study group was not significantly different from that of the control group(P>0.05).3 and 6 months after surgery, there was no significant difference in the rate of dentin bridge formation between the study group and the control group(P>0.05).After surgery, the incidence of adverse reactions in the study group was 7.69%,which was lower than 25.64% in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Pulpotomy and pulpectomy are both effective in treating children with carious pulp exposure, but pulpotomy can reduce the incidence of postoperative complications and can help children better recover their oral health.
