Clinical effect of mezlocillin combined with azithromycin in the treatment of Streptococcus pneumoniae pneumonia in children and its influence on their lung function
Objective To analyze the effect of mezlocillin combined with azithromycin in the treatment of Streptococcus pneumoniae pneumonia in children and its influence on their lung function.Methods 90 children with Streptococcus pneumoniae pneumonia were selected and divided into a control group and a study group according to random number table method,with 45 cases in each group.The control group was treated with mezlocillin,and the study group was treated with azithromycin on the basis of the control group.The efficacy,lung function,inflammatory factors and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After treatment,the total effective rate of the study group(95.56% )was better than that of the control group(80.00% ),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the forced vital capacity(FVC)of the study group was(2.68±0.24)L,the forced expiratory volume in one second as a percentage of the predicted value(FEV1% )was(77.53±4.89)%,and the ratio of FEV1 to FVC(FEV1/FVC)was(75.53±3.65)%,which were higher than(2.57±0.21)L,(70.67±4.47)% and(68.79±4.25)% of the control group.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Before treatment,there was no significant difference in interleukin-6(IL-6),C-reactive protein(CRP)and tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)between the two groups(P>0.05).After treatment,the study group had IL-6 of(45.65±10.12)pg/ml,CRP of(37.73±11.23)mg/L,and TNF-α of(24.34±5.27)ng/L,which were lower than(58.93±13.31)pg/ml,(69.28±16.57)mg/L,and(31.75±6.38)ng/L in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the incidence of adverse reactions in study group(4.44% )was lower than that in the control group(17.78% ),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The combined application of mezlocillin and azithromycin shows excellent effect in the treatment of Streptococcus pneumoniae pneumonia in children,which can help children improve lung function,reduce inflammation and the incidence of adverse reactions,and is worth promoting clinically.
