Meta-analysis of the treatment of knee osteoarthritis with fire needle
Objective To analyze the efficacy and safety of fire needle in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis and its influence on inflammatory factors,so as to provide evidence-based evidence for clinical decision-making.Methods Randomized controlled trials related to the treatment of knee osteoarthritis with fire needle were searched by computer retrieval databases. The search time was from the establishment of the database to April 2023.Cochrane bias risk assessment tool was used to conduct bias risk analysis of the included literatures, and Meta-analysis of Western Ontario and McMaster Universities osteoarthritis index(WOMAC)score, treatment response rate, knee visual analogue scale(VAS)score and serum interleukin-1(IL-1)level was performed using ReviewMan 5.4 software. Results The results of Meta-analysis showed that fire needle was superior to control therapy in reducing WOMAC score, improving treatment response rates, decreasing knee VAS score, and decreasing serum IL-1 level in knee osteoarthritis. Conclusion The literature results of this pooled analysis show that fire needle therapy is effective and safe in improving knee osteoarthritis, but more high-level studies with large sample size, high quality and multiple directions are needed to further confirm this.
