The effect of modified Xiaochaihu Decoction combined with azithromycin in the treatment of Mycoplasma pneumonia in children and its influence on traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score and inflammatory response in children
Objective To explore the clinical effect of modified Xiaochaihu Decoction combined with azithromycin in the treatment of Mycoplasma pneumonia in children and its influence on traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score and inflammatory response in children. Methods 102 children with Mycoplasma pneumonia were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group using a random number table method, with 51 cases in each group. The control group was treated with azithromycin, while the observation group was treated with modified Xiaochaihu Decoction based on the control group.Comparison was made on the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score, clinical efficacy, inflammatory markers[C-reactive protein(CRP),interleukin-10(IL-10),interleukin-6(IL-6),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)],and occurrence of adverse reactions between two groups. Results After treatment, the scores of fever, cough, asthma, sputum and phlegm ringing, phlegm yellow and sticky, and phlegm and saliva congestion in the two groups were lower than those before treatment in this group;the scores of fever, cough, asthma, sputum and phlegm ringing, phlegm yellow and sticky, and phlegm and saliva congestion were(1.13±0.17),(1.12±0.20),(0.93±0.15),(1.05±0.19),(0.83±0.11),and(1.16±0.12)points in the observation group, which were lower than(1.89±0.26),(1.93±0.31),(1.62±0.19),(1.68±0.22),(1.58±0.24),and(1.83±0.15)points in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of treatment of 96.08%in the observation group was higher than 82.35%in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of CRP,IL-10,IL-6,and TNF-α in both groups were lower than those before treatment in this group;the CRP,IL-10,IL-6,and TNF-α levels were(5.69±0.73)mg/L,(13.19±2.56)ng/L,(20.06±1.35)ng/L,and(10.75±1.42)μg/L in the observation group, which were lower than(7.51±0.92)mg/L,(21.06±3.85)ng/L,(23.51±1.87)ng/L,and(13.62±1.88)μg/L in the control group(P<0.05).There was no difference in the comparison of the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The combination of modified Xiaochaihu Decoction and azithromycin shows significant effect on children with Mycoplasma pneumonia, and can effectively alleviate clinical symptoms and inflammatory reactions, and has high safety.
