Analysis of clinical efficacy of specialized rehabilitation training on activity of daily living and swallowing function in ALS patients
Objective To observe the clinical effect of specialized rehabilitation training on activity of daily living and swallowing function of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis(ALS),so as to improve the quality of life of patients. Methods 50 cases of ALS patients were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 25 patients in each group. Both groups were given routine basic treatment and nursing, and the observation group was also given specialized rehabilitation training. The modified Barthel index(MBI)score and water swallow test before and after treatment were compared between the two groups. Results After treatment,MBI score of 65.00(60.00,72.50)points in the observation group was higher than 60.00(45.00,65.00)points before treatment in this group, and higher than 55.00(50.00,60.00)points in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).In the observation group, the grade of water swallow test after treatment was improved compared with that before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(Z=2.225,P=0.026<0.05).In the control group, there was no significant difference in the grade of water swallow test before and after treatment(Z=1.552,P=0.121>0.05).After treatment, the grade of water swallow test in the observation group was better than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(Z=3.512,P=0.000<0.05).Conclusion Specialized rehabilitation training can improve the activity of daily living and swallowing function in ALS patients, thereby improving patients'quality of life and reducing the impact of disease, which has clinical application value.
