Analysis of application value of AD8 scale in community screening of the elderly and the influencing factors of positive primary screening
Objective To analyze the application value of 8-item ascertain dementia (AD8) scale in community screening of the elderly and the influencing factors of positive initial screening. Methods A total of 100 elderly people in the community underwent primary screening of AD8 scale, with those who scored>2 points as the positive primary screening group (50 cases) and those who scored ≤2 points as the negative primary screening group (50 cases). Factors in the database that may affect the cognitive function of the elderly were collected, including individual characteristics and living status. The individual characteristics and living status of the two groups were compared. Results There was a statistical difference in the comparison of education level between the two groups (x2=30.552,P<0.05). There were significant differences in self-assessment of health status, frequency of exercise, smoking and alcohol consumption between the two groups (x2=4.858,12.000,7.788,8.508;P<0.05). Conclusion The application value of AD8 scale is of high value in the community screening of the elderly, and there are many influencing factors of positive primary screening. Attention should be paid to key populations to reduce the incidence of senile dementia.
