Clinical observation of amlodipine besylate combined with metoprolol in the treatment of essential hypertension in the elderly
Objective To explore the effect of amlodipine besylate combined with metoprolol in the treatment of essential hypertension in the elderly. Methods 150 elderly patients with essential hypertension were divided into an experimental group and a control group according to different treatment methods, with 75 cases in each group. The control group was treated with amlodipine besylate tablets, and the experimental group was treated with amlodipine besylate combined with metoprolol. The blood pressure level and treatment effect were compared between the two groups. Results Before treatment, there was no difference in diastolic and systolic blood pressure between the two groups (P>0.05).After treatment, the experimental group had diastolic blood pressure of (86.35±2.07) mm Hg (1 mm Hg=0.133 kPa) and systolic blood pressure of (124.68±4.05) mm Hg,which were lower than (95.87±2.18) and (138.85±6.53) mm Hg in the control group (P<0.05).The total effective rate of 98.67% in the experimental group was higher than 90.67% in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Metoprolol combined with amlodipine besylate has played a good role in the control of essential hypertension in the elderly, and has significant clinical effect and more value for promotion.
