Study on the correlation between family function and positive feelings in caregivers of liver cancer
Objective To investigate the current status of family function and positive feelings of caregivers of liver cancer,and analyze the correlation between the two.Methods The general information questionnaire,the Chinese version of the Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scale Ⅱ (FACESⅡ-CV) and the Positive Aspects of Caregiving (PAC) were used to conduct a questionnaire survey on 184 caregivers of liver cancer.The general information,family function and positive feelings scores of patients were statistically analyzed,and the family function and positive feelings scores of caregivers of liver cancer with different experience were compared.The correlation between family function and positive feelings was also analyzed.Results 184 caregivers of liver cancer aged 18-77 years,with an average age of (48.03±12.74) years.Among them,there were 107 males and 77 females,most of whom were married.Caregivers of liver cancer had a total family functioning score of (125.50±17.98) points,a closeness score of (73.29±10.05) points,a resilience score of (52.21±9.64) points;a total positive feelings score of (36.82±6.77) points,a self-affirmation score of (20.36±3.84) points,a life outlook score of (16.46±3.73) points.There were no significant differences in the closeness score and adaptability score among caregivers of liver cancer in terms of relationship with the patient,duration of caregiving and the presence of other comorbidities,the number of hospitalizations,medical insurance costs,and treatment modalities (P>0.05).In terms of experience (other significant negative events occurring within 3 months),postoperative complications,place of residence,occupational nature and education level,the closeness score and adaptability score of caregivers of liver cancer had statistical differences (P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the self-affirmation score and life outlook score of caregivers of liver cancer in terms of the place of residence,duration of caregiving,occupational nature,presence of postoperative complications,presence of other comorbidities,number of hospitalizations,medical insurance costs,and treatment modalities (P>0.05).In terms of experience,there were statistical differences in self-affirmation score and life outlook score among caregivers of liver cancer (P<0.05).In terms of relationship with patients,the self-affirmation scores of caregivers of liver cancer were statistically different (P<0.05),but there was no significant difference in life outlook score (P>0.05).In terms of education education,there was a statistical difference in the life outlook score among caregivers of liver cancer (P<0.05),but no significant difference in the self-affirmation score (P>0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed that the total score of family function,closeness score,and adaptability score of caregivers of liver cancer were positively correlated with the total score of positive feelings,self-affirmation score,and life outlook score (P<0.05).Conclusion The family function of caregivers of liver cancer is closely related to positive feelings,and attention should be paid to the family functions and positive feelings of liver cancer caregivers to promote the physical and mental health of liver cancer patients and their caregivers,and improve the quality of life of liver cancer patients.
