Review of the literature on pharmaceutical care of 1 case of Parkinson's disease with severe dyskinesia induced by overdose of levodopa
This paper analyzes the drug treatment and pharmaceutical care of 1 patient with Parkinson's disease(PD)induced by overdose of levodopa(L-DOPA),and explores the significance of clinical pharmacists'participation in the prevention and treatment of L-DOPA-related complications.Clinical pharmacists actively carried out pharmaceutical care and medication education during the treatment of patients with advanced PD by analyzing cases and related literature, assisting clinicians to optimize the treatment plan. After adopting the suggestions put forward by the clinical pharmacist, the patient's proximal muscle strength recovered from gradeⅡ to grade Ⅴ,and muscle tension returned to normal from grade Ⅳ.The symptoms of exercise complications has been improved significantly, and the patient has recovered and discharged after regaining exercise ability.Clinical pharmacists give full play to their professional expertise, assist physicians to provide patients with safe and effective treatment plans, and improve patients'medication compliance through medication education, which reflects the significance of clinical pharmacists to carry out pharmaceutical care for PD patients.
