Codon Preference Analysis of E2 Gene of Classical Swine Fever Virus
To provide a preferential host system for gene expression and research gene function of classical swine fever virus (CSFV) structural and envelope protein E2,codon preference of this gene was analyzed by CHIPS and CUSP programs of EMBOSS software. The results showed that CAI and ENC values of E2 gene were 0.703 and 53.161 which had a strong bias in codon preference, and also with a strong bias towards the codons with G or C at the third codon position. There were distinct differences of 33,25 and 25 codons frequencies in E.coli, yeast and human, respectively, comparing with CSFV E2.Besides,there were totally 34 rare codons in CSFV E2 gene and serial rare codons being strung together. The results showed that CSFV E2 was closest to yeast in codon usage pattern and yeast should be used as the most suitable expression system for CSFV E2 gene.
