Research Progresses in Rare Earth Doped Single-band Upconversion Luminescent Nanocrystals
Rare earth doped single-band upconversion luminescent nanocrystals exhibit unique advantages in the fields of biological detection and fluorescence coding due to their high color purity which can exempt from the crosstalk from other signals. This article provides a systematic summary and analysis of the ways in which rare earth doped upconversion nanocrystals have been regulated to achieve single-band luminescence and the current research status of rare earth doped red, green and blue single-band upconversion in recent years, mainly including introducing other ions to change the energy transfer mechanism, choosing the appropriate host material, coating inactive shell, introducing a third material as a ligand to absorb impurity peak luminescence. Finally, this article provides possible research and development directions in the future.
