Objective To understand the health literacy of Guangdong college students and its influencing factors,so as to provide theory basis for school health education.Methods The questionnaire of "health literacy survey of Chinese citizens" prepared by the department of health was used to investigate 2 200 college students.Results The mastering rate of health literacy of Guangdong college students was 8.8％.The mastering rates of basic knowledge,healthy lifestyle and behavior,health skills were 22.6％,5.7％ and 70.5％,respectively.The multi-factor logistic results indicated female students,medical professional,and sometimes/often concerned about the health information had higher proportion of health literacy than male,non-medical professional and never concerned about the health information ones.The sophomore students had higher health literacy than freshman (OR =1.795,4.619,4.131,6.083 and 0.355,respectively).Conclusion The health literacy level of college students in Guangdong is low.Publicity and education should be strengthened,the students should learn health knowledge actively especially for male students,and to develop a positive and healthy life attitude,so as to improve their own health literacy.
