Monitoring and analysis of iodine nutrition level of key population in Yun-long District of Xuzhou City from 2016 to 2020
Objective To understand the iodine nutrition status of pregnant women and children in Yunlong Dis-trict,Xuzhou City,so as to provide guidance for reasonable iodine supplementation for pregnant women and children.Meth-ods From 2016 to 2020,the morning urine samples of pregnant women and children in Yunlong District,Xuzhou City were collected, and the urinary iodine content was detected by arsenic-cerium catalytic spectrophotometry, and the salt iodine con-tent was detected by redox titration. Results A total of 500 pregnant women and 1 000 children were surveyed, and the salt-iodine levels of M(P25,P75)were 24.60(22.90,26.00)mg/kg and 24.4(21.60,26.80)mg/kg,respectively.From 2016 to 2020,there were statistically significant differences in the iodine levels and iodized salt coverage rates of pregnant women in different years(H=108,x2=9.943,P<0.05),among which 2017 was the highest. The urine iodine levels M(P25,P75)in preg-nant women and children were 184(123,275)μg/L and 276(168.75,408.25)μg/L,respectively.There were statistically sig-nificant differences in urinary iodine levels and distribution among pregnant women in different years(H=8.491,x2=62.66,P<0.05),and the urinary iodine levels were higher in 2016 and 2019.There was a statistically significant difference in urinary iodine among children in different years(H=39.24,P<0.05),and the urinary iodine level was the highest in 2017.There were statistically significant differences in urinary iodine levels among children of different age groups(H=6.185,P<0.05),and the average urinary iodine level of children in the 10-year-old age group was higher. Conclusion From 2016 to 2020,the iodine nutrition of pregnant women in Yunlong District of Xuzhou City was generally at an appropriate level, and the iodine nutrition of children was at the iodine excess level.
