Investigation of knowledge regarding wild mushroom poisoning and inci-dence of gathering and eating wild mushroom among residents in Songzi City
Objective This study investigated knowledge regarding wild mushroom poisoning and wild mushroom consumption status among local residents,to provide a basis for formulating targeted prevention and control strategies.Meth-ods A cluster random sampling method was conducted,and 480 local residents were recruited.The knowledge of wild mushroom poisoning and the occurrence of mushroom gathering behavior were analyzed.Results The total awareness rate regarding wild mushroom poisoning was 44.35%.Only 22.39%of respondents knew that wild mushroom samples should be kept after a poisoning incident.The awareness rate was negatively correlated with age(r=-0.943,P=0.005)and positively correlated with education level(r=1.000,P<0.001).In the past year,18.48%respondents had collected wild mushrooms.The incidence of collecting behavior was relatively high in women,those 60-69 years old,and those with education levels of primary school or below,at 22.94%,21.93%,and 19.86%respectively.Conclusion The awareness rate of wild mushroom poisoning among residents was low in Songzi City,but the incidence of gathering and eating wild mushroom was high.Target-ed knowledge dissemination and education therefore must be enhanced.
