Analysis of current situation of vision of primary and secondary school students directly under Lianyungang City in 2022
Objective To investigate the naked eye visual acuity and refractive status of primary and secondary school students directly under Lianyungang City, aiming to provide scientific evidence for formulating prevention and control measures. Methods A total of 43 544 students in primary school, junior high school, and senior high school directly under Lianyungang City in the 2022 school year were investigated and their unaided visual acuity and refractive detection data of non-cycloplegic states were collected, and the differences in poor vision rate and myopia degree among students of different types and grades were analyzed. Results In the 2022 school year, the total detection rate of poor vision among primary and secondary school students directly under Lianyungang City was 70.96%.The detection rate of poor vision among female stu-dents was 73.28%,which was higher than that of the male students(69.03%)(x2=94.836,P<0.001),and the detection rate of poor vision increased with the increase of grade(x2trend=4 721.794,P<0.001).The rate of hyperopia in boys was 16.60%,which was higher than that in girls(14.48%)(x2=36.548,P<0.001).In girls, the rates of low myopia and moderate myopia were 38.08%and 24.84%respectively,which were higher than those of boys(35.81%and 22.61%)(x2=23.782,29.846,both P<0.001).There were statistically significant differences in refractive status among students in different grades, and the de-gree of low-,moderate-,and high-myopia increased with the increase of grades(x2trends=120.600,5 325.946,2 218.159,P<0.001).Conclusion Among the primary and secondary school students directly under Lianyungang City, the poor eyesight of female students and senior students is more serious, and targeted measures should be taken to prevent the occurrence and development of myopia.
