Analysis of Calcium,Magnesium,Strontium, and Metasilicate content in direct drinking water in schools in Taicang City
Objective This study was aimed at investigating the content of beneficial substances in water,to pro-vide a basis for the selection of school direct drinking water systems. Methods All 41 primary and secondary schools in Taicang City using direct drinking water systems(ultrafiltration, nanofiltration,or reverse osmosis)were included in the study.SPSS 26.0 was used to compare the content of Calcium,Magnesium,Strontium, and Metasilicate in the different types of water. Results The Calcium content showed the following order:boiling tap water>tap water>ultrafiltration water>nanofiltration water>reverse osmosis water(F=704.570,P<0.001).The Magnesium content showed the following order:ul-trafiltration water>boiling tap water>tap water>nanofiltration water>reverse osmosis water(F=213.435,P<0.001).The Strontium content showed the following order:boiling tap water>tap water>ultrafiltration water>nanofiltration water>re-verse osmosis water(F=1 895.787,P<0.001).The Metasilicic acid content showed the following order:boiling tap water>ul-trafiltration water>tap water>nanofiltration water>reverse osmosis water(H=75.507,P<0.00 1).The retention rate of bene-ficial substances in ultrafiltration water ranged from 92.8%to 107.5%,and the strontium and metasilicate content reached 126.2%and 33.4%of the boundary index, respectively. Conclusion Ultrafiltration direct drinking water devices with boil-ing function provide an ideal solution for the direct drinking water supply in schools.
