Investigation and disposal of a cluster outbreak of norovirus infection in a school
Objective To explore the methods and experience of epidemic control and management of norovirus in-fection to provide evidence for effective prevention and control of norovirus infection.Methods On February 9,2023,an on-site epidemiological investigation of the cluster outbreak of norovirus infection in School A,Shizhong District was conducted.Results A total of 18 norovirus cases were found in this outbreak,involving 3 classes,mainly in Class 3,Grade 4,and Class 4,Grade 4,with prevalence rates of 17.4%(8/46)and 19.1%(9/47),respectively.The main clinical symptoms were vomiting,abdominal pain,and fever.The onset of the first and last cases was at 9:00 on February 8 and 18:00 on February 9,respectively.Norovirus G Ⅱ was detected in stool samples from all 7 cases.Conclusion This outbreak is a school cluster outbreak caused by norovirus G Ⅱ infection.
