Objective To analyze the main causes and intervention effects of hand hygiene compliance of nursing staff in central sterile supply department(CSSD).Methods A total of 50 nursing staff who were working in CSSD from March 2019 to March 2022 were selected to investigate the reasons affecting hand hygiene adherence and implement corre-sponding interventions. The hand hygiene knowledge, hand hygiene compliance and hand hygiene quality of nursing staff be-fore and after the intervention were compared. Results The top three reasons affecting hand hygiene compliance were insuf-ficient cognition(88.00%),heavy workload(86.00%),and skin damage caused by disinfectant(76.00%).After the interven-tion,the scores of hand hygiene concept, hand hygiene significance, hand hygiene importance, and seven-step handwashing method were(90.89±5.71),(91.96±5.75),(92.93±4.65),and(93.96±5.59),respectively,and the hand hygiene compliance was(94.98±5.01)%,all of which were higher than those before intervention:(82.79±5.63),(83.86±5.34),(85.17±4.75),(86.87±5.13)and(89.82±5.65)%,respectively,and the differences were statistically significant(all P<0.01).The number of colonies in hand hygiene testing after handwashing was(3.06±0.78)CFU/cm2,which was lower than that before intervention(6.12±1.05)CFU/cm2,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Aiming at the influencing causes of hand hygiene compliance of CSSD nursing staff, active intervention measures can improve the quality of hand hygiene.
