Epidemiological characteristics of AIDS in Suyu District,Suqian City 2008 to 2023
Objective This study analyzed the current status and epidemiological characteristics of HIV infection in Suyu District,Suqian City,since 2008,to provide a scientific basis for the formulation of effective prevention and control measures.Methods Descriptive epidemiological statistical methods were used to analyze HIV/AIDS data reported in the Chinese Disease Prevention and Control Information System in Suyu District,Suqian City.Results From 2008 to 2023,a total of 194 cases of HIV/AIDS were reported;the average annual infection rate was 1.83 per 100 000 population.The overall infection rate showed an increasing trend(x2trend=30.14,P<0.001)and affected more males than females(x2=98.14,P<0.001).The main affected age group was 20-59 years(91.75%).The top three occupations before onset were farmers,com-mercial service workers,and householders/unemployed individuals.The main route of infection was sexual transmission.The top three case detection routes were testing of other patients,testing and counseling,and preoperative testing(accounting for a total of 76.29%).Conclusions The AIDS epidemic in Suyu District,Suqian City has a low prevalence but shows an over-all increasing trend.Prevention and control measures are urgently required.
