A case of endoscopic myotomy of an incarcerated esophageal foreign body after chemoradiotherapy for esophageal cancer
Esophageal foreign bodies are a common emergency in gastroenterology.Because of the pathophysiologi-cal changes in the esophagus occurring after chemoradiation, removal of these bodies under endoscopy is difficult. We report a case in which endoscopic myotomy was used to successfully remove a foreign body incarceration after chemoradiotherapy for esophageal cancer. We further summarize the diagnosis and treatment through a case review,to broaden the diagnosis and treatment considerations among clinicians, and provide relevant experience for the treatment of special esophageal foreign bodies.
