Analysis of military academy high school graduates'ophthalmology ex-amination status
Objective This study analyzed the ophthalmic examination results and reasons for unqualified ophthal-mic examinations among recent high school graduates enrolled in military academy,to aid in early prevention and treatment. Methods A total of 1 185 high school graduates who participated in military school physical examinations at a hospital between January 2022 and July 2022 were selected through a cluster sampling method.Visual acuity;color vision;the lens, anterior chamber, cornea, and fundus;and ocular and surgical history were examined. Results The ophthalmology examina-tion pass rate was 84.81%(1 005/1 185)among the 1 185 high school graduates. No significant difference in the eye examina-tion pass rate was observed between boys and girls(P>0.05).The unqualified eye examination cases included primarily na-ked eye visual acuity<4.5,accounting for 45.00%(81/180);corneal refractive operation time<6 months, accounting for 25.56%(46/180);and retinopathy hypoxia, accounting for 20.00%(36/180)of refractive errors 600°(6.0 D)or greater.Con-clusion Poor vision and insufficient corneal refractive surgery time were common reasons for military school ophthalmic ex-amination among high school graduates.
