Objective This study analyzed the current status of myopia screening and influencing factors in senior kindergarten classes in Heze City in 2022,to provide a scientific basis for the prevention and control of childhood myopia. Methods From December 2022 to May 2023,1 187 children in senior kindergarten classes in various counties and dis-tricts in Heze City were examined through remote vision examination and computer optometry without ciliary paralysis.A questionnaire survey was conducted among their guardians. Results Among the 1 187 children, screening myopia was pres-ent in 82(6.9%)children.Logistic regression analysis indicated that residence in suburban counties[OR(95%CI)=0.086(0.050-0.147)],parents with non-institutionalized occupations[OR(95%CI)=0.468(0.284-0.772)],and frequent consump-tion of green vegetables[OR(95%CI)=0.450(0.263-0.769)]negatively correlated with myopia screening.Regular consump-tion of carbonated beverages[OR(95%CI)=3.848(1.803-8.215]was positively associated withmyopia screening(P<0.01).Conclusions Residence in suburban counties, parents with non-institutionalized occupations, and frequent consumption of green vegetables were protective factors in myopia screening among preschool children.Frequent consumption of carbonated beverages is a high risk factor for myopia screening in preschool children.
