Factors influencing self-management levels in patients with liver cirrho-sis
Objective This study explored factors affecting self-management levels in patients with cirrhosis,to pro-vide a reference for the formulation of late clinical intervention strategies to improve self-management among these patients. Methods A total of 150 patients with liver cirrhosis admitted to our hospital between January 2021 and October 2023 were investigated with a general data questionnaire,self-management behavior scale for patients with liver cirrhosis,Social Sup-port Rating Scale(SSRS),and General Self-efficacy Scale(GSES).Factors affecting the patients'self-management levels were analyzed. Results The self-management behavior scores of 150 patients with cirrhosis ranged from 37 to 79,and aver-aged 53.01±6.14 points.Statistically significant differences were observed according to marital status, education level, gender, monthly income,Child-Push liver function grade, family history of liver disease, and self-management level among patients with cirrhosis(all P<0.05).Social support and self-efficacy positively correlated with the level of self-management in patients with cirrhosis(r=0.435,0.428,P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis indicated that male sex, high school education or below, monthly income<5 000 yuan,no family history of liver disease,Child-Push liver function classification of B/C,low social support, and low self-efficacy were all high risk factors affecting the self-management level among patients with cirrhosis(all P<0.05).Conclusions The self-management ability of patients with cirrhosis is moderate to low and is affected by many factors. The self-management level of patients can be improved by formulating intervention measures by considering various high-risk factors.
