Analysis of monitoring results for common diseases among students in Yuehu District,Yingtan City in 2023
Objective This study investigated the prevalence of common diseases among students in Yuehu Dis-trict in 2023.Methods 3 560 students at 12 schools in Yuehu District were selected through cluster sampling in Septem-ber 2023.We detected low vision,high blood pressure,overweight,obesity,and dental caries among the cohort.Results The total detection rate of poor visual acuity was 70.10％,and was higher in girls than in boys.The detection rate of poor visu-al acuity in high school and above was significantly higher than in primary and secondary school(P＜0.05).The detection rate of malnutrition was 6.41％,and significantly differed between girls and boys.Moreover,the difference between the detec-tion rate of malnutrition in high school and above was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The detection rate of overweight and obesity was 29.32％,and significantly differed between girls and boys(P＜0.05).The difference between the proportion of overweight and obesity in high school and above was statistically significant(P＜0.05).The detection rate of high blood pres-sure was 27.60％,and significantly differed between girls and boys(P＜0.05).No significant difference was observed in the detection rate of high blood pressure among students(P＞0.05).The detection rate of caries was 51.62％,and significantly differed between girls and boys(P＜0.05),and between high school and middle school students(P＜0.05).Conclusions The prevalence of common diseases among students in Yuehu District in 2023 should not be ignored.The community should strengthen interventions for related diseases to improve health among children and adolescents.
