Objective This study was aimed to understand the quality of hygiene and disinfection at childcare insti-tutions in Tongshan District,Xuzhou City,to identify existing problems,propose targeted suggestions,and provide a refer-ence for improving disinfection and monitoring work in childcare institutions within the jurisdiction.Methods Random sampling was applied to sample and test the disinfection quality at 14 childcare institutions in Tongshan District,and retro-spectively analyze the monitoring results from 2019 to 2023.Results From 2019 to 2023,14 childcare institutions were se-lected,and 319 samples were tested.The qualified disinfection quality rate was 87.46％,and the qualified rates over the past 5 years were 96.67％(2019),78.95％(2020),73.13％(2021),96.00％(2022),and 91.67％(2023).The qualification rates of indoor air,object surfaces,staff hand surfaces,and dining(drinking)utensils for the tested items were 79.59％,89.22％,78.08％,and 96.84％,respectively.The disinfection qualification rates of kindergartens at the provincial demonstration park,municipal demonstration park,and standard park levels were 85.58％,86.88％,and 90.70％,respectively.No statistically sig-nificant difference in the qualification rate of monitoring was observed among childcare institutions at the same level(P＞0.05).Conclusions From 2019 to 2023,the overall disinfection quality of childcare institutions in Tongshan District,Xu-zhou City was good,and the qualified rate of monitoring items such as hand surfaces and indoor air for staff was low.Strength-ening disinfection quality supervision and staff training,and improving staff awareness of hand hygiene,is necessary.The overall disinfection quality at childcare institutions in Tongshan District,Xuzhou City from 2019 to 2023 was good,but awareness of hand hygiene among staff must be further improved.
