Research progress of long-acting growth hormone preparations
Growth hormone deficiency is an endocrine disorder caused by the malfunction of growth hormone secretion. It is characterized by insufficient levels of growth hormone to maintain normal growth and metabolism. The cause of this disease may be congenital or acquired. The main characteristics of growth hormone deficiency in children are short stature and growth disorder, while the clinical manifestations of growth hormone deficiency in adults are often nonspecific. At present, the standard treatment strategy is to use exogenous growth hormone replacement therapy. The use of short-acting recombinant human growth hormone is the most common, but daily subcutaneous injection is required, which will lead to poor compliance and reduced efficacy.Long-acting growth hormone preparations can reduce the frequency of administration and improve compliance and efficacy.A variety of long-acting growth hormone preparations are currently in different stages of development. In this paper, the research status and the latest progress of long-acting growth hormone preparations are reviewed in order to provide reference for the use of long-acting growth hormones.
