Progress in research on tecovirimat,an oral drug for monkeypox
There is no specific treatment for monkeypox.To date,tecovirimat(TPOXX,ST-246)is the only approved oral treatment for monkeypox in the world.Tcoveril acts on the VP37 of the orthopoxvirus to inhibit the maturation and release of monkeypox virus.In the clinical trials,case reports,and retrospective studies,the efficacy and safety of tecovir were satisfactory.This review summarized the efficacy,safety,and clinical data from each phase of study.
