Platform Philanthropy:From Technology Empowerment to Organizational Change
]Recently charitable organizations,as the main body of the development of philanthropy career,have been increasingly affected by digital technology,showing a trend from technological empowerment to organizational change.The change of"technology-organization"relationship is the key factor driving the change of charitable organizations,and presents the characteristics of three stages of triggering unfreezing,adjusting and adapting,and reverse action.Through the analysis of several foundations'digital transformation cases,it is found that the friction between technology and humanities,the embedded contradiction between the rapid iteration of technology and the weak application ability of technology,and the insufficient adaptation between flexible business process and rigid organizational structure,triggered the unfreezing of organizations;and then the organization adjusted and adapted at the three levels of strategy,collaboration,and structure,which contributed to the emergence of platform charity organizations.In the end,the practice and governance needs of the organization are reversed in the three dimensions of project exposure,data development,and evaluation incentives to the technology rules.
