Typology Research:Conceptual Theory,Research Steps and Application
Typology as a prior-to-experience research tool,compares with other research modes and finds the internal mechanism.It is suitable for the mining of complex social phenomena,and has been widely used in many fields of humanities and social sciences.However,due to the lack of systematic methodological guidance,scholars still know very little about the normative use and application potential of Typology.On the basis of the concept of defining Typology,the common misunderstandings in the use of Typology and Taxonomy are analyzed.And then introduces the"construction-demonstration-comparison"research steps.In recent studies,the Typology has shown a trend of expanding from static to dynamic application,especially from the traditional mode classification to the causal mechanism.This new trend has created a new research paradigm space for Typology,which is worthy to be discovered,discussed and applied by more scholars.
