Clinical observation of leadless pacemaker implantation in a single center
Objective To report clinical experience of implanting leadless pacemaker in a single center. Methods The data of all patients with single chamber leadless pacemaker(LP)implantation in the Department of Cardiolo-gy of Peking University People's Hospital from January 2020 to May 2023 were retrospective reviewed, including clinical characteristics, reasons for implantation and operation data, complications and follow-up results. Results One hundred and fourteen consecutive patients[mean age(74.9±13.0)years old,70 males(61.4%)]were included in this study. The main reasons for implantation were high infection risk, lack of superior vena cava access and ad-vanced elderly patients. The reimplantation ratio after transvenous lead removal was as high as 63.2%.The implanta-tion success rate was 100%,the intraoperative high threshold incidence was 8.8%,and the perioperative complica-tions were 4.4%.During a follow-up period of 12(3,24)months,the pacing parameters remained stable, the chronic threshold incidence was 3.5%,and without pacemaker infection, malfunction and pacing-related rehospitalization. There were 50 elderly patients(43.8%),and there was no statistical difference in operation data and follow-up re-sults between the two groups. Conclusion Leadless pacemaker is a safe and effective alternative to traditional transvenous pacemakers.[Chinese Journal of Cardiac Pacing and Electrophysiology,2024,38(2):96-99]
