Objective To discuss the causal relationship between atopic dermatitis(AD)and atrial fibrillation(AF)by applying two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis. Methods The data from a gene-wide association study(GWAS)were analyzed with AD as exposure factor and AF as outcome variable. The two-sample Mendelian randomization analysis was conducted by using methods of inverse variance-weighted(IVW),MR-Egger,WM,Simple Mode and Weighted Mode, and heterogeneity tests, sensitivity analysis and pleiotropy analysis were carried out. Results There were totally 18 single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNP)included. The results of IVW analysis showed that AD was a risk factor of AF occurrence(OR=1.027,95%CI:1.00~1.05,P=0.043).The results of heterogeneity tests showed that there was no potential heterogeneity observed, and sensitivity was stable and reliable and there was no pleiotropy. Conclusion There is a causal relationship between AD and AF.It is necessary to find and intervene early potential AF in AD patients.
