Objective To investigate the correlation among postprandial hypotension(PPH),vascular physiological parameters and asthenic degree in elderly patients with hypertension. Methods The very old patients with hypertension(averagely aged 89 years old,n=89)were chosen from Air Force Specialty Medical Center of Chinese PLA Air Force Medical University. The patients were divided, according to whether they had PPH or not, into PPH group and non-PPH group. The vascular physical parameters were described in all groups. The relationship among PPH and different influence factors was analyzed based on scales of asthenia and self-care ability. Results The level of ankle-brachial index(ABI)was significantly lower(1.10±0.13 vs.1.17±0.13,P<0.05),and cases of fundus angiosclerosis were significantly more(34.7%vs.10.0%,P<0.05)in PPH group than those in non-PPH group, while asthenic patients(55.0%vs.32.7%,P<0.05)were more in non-PPH group than those in non-PPH group. The results of binary Logistic regression analysis showed that asthenic degree(OR=0.225,95%CI:0.072~0.709,P<0.05),ABI(OR=0.001,95%CI:0.000~0.215,P<0.05)and severity of fundus angiosclerosis(OR=4.904,95%CI:1.271~18.920,P<0.05)had significant influence on PPH occurrence. Conclusion PPH,ABI and fundus angiosclerosis had significant correlation with asthenic degree in very old patients with hypertension.
