Objective To investigate the correlation among levels of serum microRNA-138-5p(miR-138-5p)andSorbin and SH3 domain-containing protein 2(SORS2),plaque stability and lesion severity in elderly patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods Elderly CHD patients(n=131)were chosen and divided,according to plaque situation determined by ultrasound results,into stable group(n=52)and unstable group(n=79)from July 2022 and Jan.2024.According to results of coronary angiography(CAG),Gensini scores andlesion extent,the patients were divided into single-vessel lesion group(n=42),double-vessel lesion group(n=46)and triple-vessel lesion group(n=43).In addition,healthy controls(n=49)were chosen into control group.The levels of serum miR-138-5p and SORBS2 were detected by using qRT-PCR,and correlation among miR-138-5p,SORBS2,plaque stability and lesion severity were analyzed by using Pearson method and Spearman method.Results The level of miR-138-5p was lower and level of ORBS2 was higher in unstable group than those in stable group and control group,which were more significant in stable group(P<0.05).The results of Pearson method showed that miR-138-5p level was negatively correlated to SORBS2 level(P<0.05).The levels of high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(HDL-C)and miR-138-5p level were protective factors for unstable plaque formation,and levels of triglyceride(TG),low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol(LDL-C)and SORBS2 level were risk factors for unstable plaque formation(P<0.05)in elderly CHD patients.The level of miR-138-5p decreased,and SORBS2 level and Gensini scores increased in double-vessel lesion group and triple-vessel lesion group compared with single-vessel lesion group,which were more significantly in triple-vessel lesion group(P<0.05,P<0.05).The results of Spearman correlation analysis showed that miR-138-5p level was negatively correlated to Gensini scores,and SORBS2 level was positively correlated to Gensini scores.Conclusion The levels of serum miR-138-5p and SORS2 are closely correlated to plaque stability and lesion severity in elderly CHD patients.
