Objective To discuss the risk factors for progression fromparoxysmal atrial fibrillation(PAF)to persistent atrial fibrillation(PeAF).Methods The patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation(NVAF,n=782)were chosen from Department of Internal Medicine in Guang`anmen Hospital from Jan.2016 to Oct.2021.The patients were divided into PeAF group(n=399)and PAF group(n=383).The risk factors for PeAF were assessed by using Logistic regression analysis. Results The age, left atrial diameter(LA,P<0.001),and percentages of complicated coronary heart disease(CHD,P<0.001),heart failure(HF,P<0.05),ischemic stroke(P<0.01),diabetes(P<0.05),hyperuricemia(P<0.001)and chronic renal insufficiency(CRI,P<0.001)were higher in PeAF group than those in PAF group. The results of Logistic regression analysis showed that LA≥40 mm(OR=6.40,95%CI:4.35~9.40,P<0.001)and complicated CHD(OR=1.56,95%CI:1.09~2.22,P<0.05)were independent risk factors for PeAF.Conclusion CHD and increased LA are independent risk factors for the progression from PAFtoPeAF.
