Pyroptosis is a soluble inflammatory programmed cell death mode mediated by gasdermin family of proteins.Pyroptosis may take part in the pathogenesis of various cardiovascular diseases (CVD),including atherosclerosis (AS),myocardial infarction (MI),and heart failure (HF).However,a bibliometric analysis on global research trends and hotspots for pyroptosis in CVD has yet to be reported.A systematic search for relevant literature on pyroptosis in CVD was conducted on the database of Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) to identify articles published from the inception of the database until 2023.Data analysis and visualization were performed with regard to publication volume,country/region,institute,author,journal,keywords and co-citation by using bibliometric methods and software tools (CiteSpace and VOSviewer).A total of 1958 studies were selected for analysis. The number of publications has steadily increased over the years.China and the United States are the most productive and influential countries.Harbin Medical University is the institution with the highest number of articles, while Antonio Abbate is the author with the most publications. The most frequent keywords included"NLRP3 inflammasome","cardiovascular diseases","inflammation","oxidative stress","activation","ischemia/reperfusion injury","myocardial infarction",and"atherosclerosis".Based on the chronological appearance of keywords,AF and cardiotoxicity were postulated as future research directions in CVD.This study presents a comprehensive overview of the current state of researches on pyroptosis in CVD,along with future perspectives.Additionally,it elucidates the collaborative networks established among nations, authors and institutions in this field.
